Discover this 2.4-mile loop trail in Mesa just beyond Usery Mountain Regional Park.

This is a very easy, flat, and well-marked trail. The trail is mostly packed dirt and sand, so it offers some variety from the mostly rocky trails in the area. There are several interpretative signs along the trail detailing wildlife and foliage, so be sure to read and try to look for local flora and fauna. Additionally, this trail has quite a bit of shade and follows the river for a short distance. To access this trail, users must pay a $12 parking fee. —AllTrails

Also, Tonto Daily Passes are available at Tonto National Forest offices and retail vendors across the Valley (please call retailers for availability).

Ask your best buds to jump in the car and go for a ride to this beautiful hike, with an optional lunch to follow at the nearby Red, White and Brew.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

As with all hikes, bring water and a snack for energy as needed.
