“You don't train for The Canyon, The Canyon trains you.” - Backpacker met on the trail

If you find hiking a joyful activity, have had some backpacking experience (so you know what you are getting into) and have thought you would like to tackle Grand Canyon, this is your opportunity.

This web site, "click here" will give you specifics about Grand Canyon hiking and backpacking.

Bruce and Edna are experienced backpackers and have strongly suggested that you watch the video titled “Back Country Video: Hiking the Canyon – Prepare for Backpacking”, especially if you’re new to the Canyon. "click here".    View the flyer for full information.
It is about 4 hour drive from the intersection of I-17 and Loop 101, allowing for a short break and a stop for gas in Flagstaff. Once you enter Grand Canyon National Park, take the first left onto Center Road. Proceed to the stop sign and turn left on South Village Loop to the Backcountry Office.

Happy to discuss this trip with you! Bruce & Edna Benware - 623-670-3369
